Default 2002 Z28 35th few questions

Theres a 02 z28 35th anniversary edition at a dealership close by with 34k miles its black but I dont know what options it has, I saw the car in an add and called about it. Its only $10,000! Im like what the hell thats too good to be true so I called and asked and they said its bone stock and no accidents or anything. But 10 grand??? I think I'm gonna do a carfax on it or something but doesnt that sound fishy?

Ten grand is pretty sketchy. I'd look into it a bit more. If it was a few thousand more it would be legit, but I bet there's some sort of catch to it.

It isn't a 35th anniversary if it is black. They only came in red. I would leave it alone.

*edit* I mean it isn't a Special edition 35th anniversary SS.
Here is what it should look like.

yeah, those "35th anniversary" adds are a joke, just because the '02s have a little plate that says 35th anniversary on it doesn't mean anyting, it just indicates that it's an '02 model, even the V6 cars have them. It doesn't make the car worth any more money.

No way! Not possible for a Z28 with over 30k miles on it.

I would do a carfax on the car and if that still checks out, and you are serious about the car, just come out and ask the sales guy about the car, but dont act like you think they are asking too little though.

Whoa.... hold on a minute...okay here are the true numbers from my August Ed of NADA.

02 Chevrolet Camaro- Z28 2D Coupe

Loan - $13,725 kinda like wholesale value
Trade In - $15,250 obvious
Retail - $17,750 a good starting price buying from a dealer or selling private

** Mileage Class II 34,000 - $150 plus one hundred and fifty **

You do the math.....An SS would be a little different (of course)....

Just remember the old adage:

Click here for me bitching about it...

Anyway, I paid $10K for my 2001 Z with 77K miles over a year ago. There is some MAJOR problem with that car or else a typo in the ad. I'd skip.

BTW all 02's are 35th anniversary. The red ones with the stripes are "Special Edition" 35th anniversary models

Still doesn't make the non-special edition ones worth anymore. It's just another Camaro that was made in 2002 that has that little "plaque" that says it's the 35th anniversary rather than just Camaro.

the nada value of my car is $19,150 with 26,000 miles. mines an 02 "35th anniv. car"

the dealer wanted 20,995 and i eventually got them down to 16k and some change. mine has every option but ASR and leather. 10k for that car is extremely fishy. if its stripped with no options then that would be just be a good deal. do a carfax. in texas, and probably everwhere else, a car is only worth 50% of its value if its been deemed with a rebuilt/salvage title. check that out too.

I work for a used car dealership in the summer. My job is to go to 2 or 3 auctions a week and buy cars for the lot. Soooo I actually have a dealer subscrption to the yellow NADA book. I get a new book every month (yes prices change depending on the time of the year).

Yes the prices on the website are SCREWED UP. I don't kow what the hell they were thinking when they designed that website... I mean you can get close, but nothing like the detail of the actual book itself.

LOL yes, it is indeed the very rare blue package - one of 3 in the world, it boasts 400HP (flywheel with generous drivetrain loss calculation) and is the only production car to carry a mismatched body kit and a Trans Am interior with custom Z28 headrests....
