gmmg vs borla with open plates
just heard in person finally a 2002 camaro ss with the borla exhaust running open plates and headers with no cats....and a 2002 ws6 with the gmmg exhaust running stock manifolds and cats...the gmmg was WAY DEEPER at idle and just tapping the gas...what gives? I wanted the gmmg b/c from the outside it sounds awesome...inside though it sounds so deep almost unbearable....didn't get to drive it though...just comparing idle and small blips on the throttle

I have the Borla Catback and I hate the sound of it when it was wide open. I now have a plate on it and it sounds much better. Granted I still have stock cats and manifolds but like Nine Ball said having headers and ORY with wide open borla is just to much.

nah you guys are missing my point...I want the gmmg but it sounds way louder inside than the other setup i described...I wanna know why...b/c i just don't get it.... here's another setup to throw into the mix....gmmg exhaust + slp LT and high flow cat= loud outside...quiet inside.....stock everything+ gmmg exhaust= mellow outside and loud inside....WHY! I sat inside a ws6 with lsx manifold...ported TB...and slp y pipe..and it was insanely deep inside..

I have that set-up, and its not that deep on the inside. You act like it was unbearable? Maybe you were drunk or something? And yes, LT's/ORY/Borla sounds like a pile of horseshit.

You summed it up good there. I couldnt have said it better myself. You might want to look into true duals. IMO they sound the best...
