Default How do i weigh my car?

Ok, so I ordered one of those cheapo G-Tech Pro units and I know imma have to input my cars weight if I want to know RWHP. SO I wanna know where I can take the car to get it weighed, and around how much the damage would be to my pocket book.

Maybe we can guesstimate it...its a 1999 Z28 with T-Tops, RS type of Bodykit, magnaflow exhuast, edelbrock shortty headers, 19" Axis Supermesh rims, and probably the one accessory that will make an impact on weight: 2 12" subs with thier own housing.

Pics of my car are at http://www.cardomain.com/id/hitmeoff

you get 4 standup scales, and you put one under each tire, then you.....hahahahahaa...

ok what was said b4 , truck weight station(on major highways there is one every 30-40 miles)
your local drag strip should have one (they are free)
and if all else fails go to your local uhaul store and ask them,(when a military family moves they have to weight the truck empty and full to get paid, so uhaul gets asked alot about a weight station,so they should know the closest one)

hope that helps

If there is a race Track near you, usually they have Scales. My guesstimate for your wieght would be in the 3500 range with all that stuff and big wheels.

if you have any co-ops or grain elevators around they have scales they weigh graintrucks with. the better ones have digital units and leave the display on so you can wheel up there after hours.

judging by your location tho i bet there aint very many grain elevators...

Also some concrete plants will have scales. They might let you use their scale.

Hey guys!!! Thanks for all the replies...yeah, the nearest drag strip that i know off is about 30 miles away or so (Irwindale Speedway).

But I did find a place near me that will weigh my car for $10 bucks...Its worth it i guess, since driving that far means paying gas and wasting some time.

Or you could wait until you get the G-tech and then find out that they tell your car's weight is on the sticker right inside the drivers door. (OK, you will have to do a little math, but it will get you very close, and all for free.)

I went to a transfer station (dump). They said I weighed 1.9 tons with me in the car and a full tank of gas... which is 3800lbs - 225lbs (me) = 3575. Stock 99 T/A M6... sound about right?
