Default Sleeper mods?

i was looking to try and find some sleeper mods. If my parents find out i did anything to my car while i live under their roof, it's either get rid of the car or get a new home(i am 18)

i already plan on doing a E-cutout, but how much of a difference will headers make? and can you tell with the stock exhaust? what other mods are out there?

i already plan on gettin a lid and a ram air kit or should i get the FIPK?

thanks for all the help!

I would suggest the k&N, Lid And free ram air mod first. Then do a cut-out. I gained about .35 tenths at the track with those mods not sure about HP numbers.

lid and ftra or ssra,
thru a stock exhast the headers wont make it too much louder but when you open the cut out

or you could do what all of us should have , and set up your suspention and drivetrain first.
in the last 6 months i have been getting seriouse about my set up .
moser 9" rear w/4.11 gears
nitrouse driveshaft w/ 1350 yoke
spohn drag rear sway bar
spohn LCA's
spohn TQ arm with duel DS loops
bmr pan hard
bmr SFC's

hind site being 20/20 i should have started with this stuff

Gears (if you can't afford a complete rear end), nobody will know you have them.

[QUOTE=jaberwaki]lid and ftra or ssra,
thru a stock exhast the headers wont make it too much louder but when you open the cut out Yup, I can see it now he'll crack that cut-out open when he gets a block away and be dippin into the throttle and pass his mom and blow her ears out and when he gets home they will ask "what is broken on your car?" LOL. But yes, LT's, cats and stock exahust will be pretty tame. After you go the lid and filter you can do what jaberwki suggested about upgrading the suspension/frame support(SFC's)

awesome, thanks a lot guys, this is good to get me started, and then when i move to floriday, a whole new ball game!!

i guess i'll save up get the rear-end first since it is one of the more xpensive parts, 9in with what, 3.42 or 3.73 gears? and i never got all the options that it comes with, like the posi and stuff and i have been meaning to read up all that

i plan on trying to see if i can fit a cut-out between the headers and cats, we'll see, from what i have read it is a tight fit!

thanks again!

Since your automatic I'd say 3.42 gears. What about a dry nitrous kit. Hide the bottle and wrap the line with black tubing. To an untrained eye it will look stock.

for the rear since you are a4 you dont need a heavy *** 9" like us m6er's do
a 12 bolt, spool, 35 spline axels 3.73 gears and you should be fine for a LONG time

how much HP does the 12bolt take, well nm, i'll search for that answer, as for the N2O, i want to try and keep it all motor for as long as i can, but i guess havin it won't hurt, it'll be one of my later mods

and i decided, AS SOON as i hit Florida, the first things i buy will be a shift kit, TC, and Max Performance Summer Tires!!! And i am really lookin into the STS turbo kit for sometime in the future, but i am gettin WAY ahead of myself.

yet again jaberwaki and everyone else, you have been a great help!

I think you already are but in case your not....DO THE SUSPENSION STUFF!
I have a bit more done than is in my sig but damn I wish I would have started with suspension too. I can hardly get any hook up now. (well not all squirly but definately too loose)
HP + No Hook-ie = No Go-ie!
Smoke shows are nice... but there is a time and place for everything.

12 bolts in a4's and a3's have been in the 9's...

If you have 3.23 gears, I wouldn't touch that rearend. Look at the auto's running high 10's/low 11's on the stock 10 bolt.

Free Mods
Lid
Cat-back (slp Dual/Dual if you have to be stealthy)/Cut-out
Nitrous
Drag radials
Torque converter/cooler

All that should have you solidly in the 11's (corrected maybe), and no one would ever know to look at it.

If you have 3.23's i definetly would NOT change the gears, its not worth it. A stall is much much more effective.

I think you meant to say it's NOT worth changing gears in an A4 with 3.23's. If so, I agree. There's no point. Guys run 10's with them. You can't get more sleeper than an LS6 cam really. Nitrous is a bit much IMO if you're trying to hide mods. It can get you in trouble and if you're under your parents roof that may be trouble you don't need.

Do you mean you would or would not change the gears?

Deffinately suspention first. You want to stay suttle try this list.

Lid w/filter of choice
Free mods
LCAs, SFCs get the tubes if you don't have ground effects. They tuck under the body so you can't see them unless you lay on the ground.
(do torque arm and PHR expences permitting otherwise not needed until big power)
TC
Cut-out (QTP)
Ported TB and MAF (despite arguments they work)
Bellows
Don't waist money on a rear or gears. A4s rarely break them and with a stall a gear does little.
All suspention should be black.
1.8 or better rockers work and no one will know.

Now with all this being done with a good tire, the right stall, a tune and good track conditions should net you a low 12 to high 11 and your victom will never see it comming.

Ported TB is a good mod, but I completely disagree about the MAF. It's a waste of $300 IMO. They don't produce any power and they cause tuning issues. The stocker is good for big power...well over 500rwhp. Hell, I think Harlan used it up to 700rwhp.

I would go with
-SSRA/FTRA ramair system
-lid (I don't think your parents will recognize it)
-headers (again, parents probably won't recognize it)
-stall convertor
Should be a pretty cool 12 sec sleeper setup.

They'll hear him coming from 3 miles away with headers 5Point7. Parents never look in the engine bay, but they'll definitely hear that sucker!
