Default Anyone find out how many miles ls1 can take?

tried searching but I cant seem to find anything.

As some of you may see im probably going to try and buy a higher milage corvette over a lower milage fbody pretty soon here, but im wondering how long you guys think an ls1 will last.

Id like to replace all the pistons/head everything and have a race car but who knows how long it would be untill that happened, and the car will be driven on every nice day, but being in michigan itll be garaged for like half the year, and ill probly be drivin a truck in the rain.

Most of the vettes I can own already have 50-60k on them, and if I had to guess I might put out 10k a year on it if im lucky....

Id just hate it to start breaking down before im even done paying it off, so whats your guys guess on longevity?

there are people with well over 100k on their ls1s and modded at that...and they are still going strong
i believe if you treat the car the way it should be treated, and keep up on routine maintenance, i.e. fluids and such, it will last a long long time

There is a guy on Corvetteforum who has well over 320,000 miles on his 99 Corvette the last time he posted. By now he must be close to 350k actually, he racks up tons of miles per week using his car as a daily driver in Michigan (he's in sales and drives all day long)

Two of my friends each own a higher mileage vett(depends on your definition of high).
One is a 98 c5 that was purchased with around 80k miles, it has been his daily driver for around 3 years. He has just broke 150k without any major problems. The other is a 99 that still runs strong with close to a 140k. I know these are not the highest miles by far, but they are the highest miles on a ls1 vett I have seen with my own eyes.

If trucks count mine has over 156K on it and I didn't start modding until about 130K but have always kinda been hard on it. Pullin 4000 pounds half this miliege at sometimes 90-95 MPH for 45-50 miles at a time. Only thing done to maintain engine is change the oil every 3 to 5000 miles and fuel filter every 30K. It's a '99 model...Zed
