1999 vs. 2001-2002?
I was looking at 2001 - 2002 Camaro SS's and they are $18,000 - $23,000, and then I started looking at 1999 - 2000, and they are much cheaper. Is there any real reason to buy a 2001 or 2002 Camaro SS over a 1999 Camaro SS if my plans are to heavily mod it anyways? I know the only real performance differance is the LS6 intake, but is that really the only major thing? Is there any interior differances? Thanks, Ryan

(especially since its also a sticky at the top of this section)
2001-2002 have the LS6 intake and different Cam, exhaust manifolds and fuel injectors. This equates to 5 more hp and no EGR. As for the interior, 1998-2000 had a "charcoal" interior and 2001-2002 had the darker "ebony interior".
There are more differences but those are the major ones.

You can always get a 01 or 02 with more miles. I bought mine for $11,500 with 66,000 miles. Yea, that's a lot of miles for an 01, but the 98's and 99's I was looking at had over 75,000 miles and cost just a little less.

Damn, I didn't know they were going for that cheap yet. Miles don't really matter to me because I plan on a new motor anyways, I just don't want anything over 50 - 60k.

I bought mine off of Ebay. Turned out to be a really good transaction, but a little scary for me. I bought it from a dealer in Houston and drove it back to Phoenix. It's a Maroon 6 speed with tan leather interior. Car was absolutely stock and ran great. Runs even better now after a few small mods.
