SLP lid pictures and questions
Just install an SLP lid today and I have a few question.
1. What is that thing on the lid in my left hand should it be covered maybe ?
2. What's up with the hose with the filter in my right ?
Maybe one day they used to be together?
I had the stock lid on my car when I bought it and that hose with the filter was just tucked under some wires and the stock lid was opened on the right hand side like the SLP lid.
Could somebody explain please what's up with those and what should I do ?
See my sig for more info on the car.
One more thing SLP lid rocks. I can tell the difference.

The elbow into your lid (left hand) is where you want your AIR intake hose connected. It looks like someone put a filter on the end of your AIR hose (right hand) and let it just dangle. It would be better to get cool air from your lid than warmer air from inside the engine compartment. You should be able to connect the AIR hose back to the lid with the parts that came with your lid. Someone correct me if I'm seeing this wrong.

Then you just need to plug the hole in the side of the lid... I am not sure what the best way to do this is, but I am sure someone else will reply with a good sugestion..

SLP also has a plug that they sell that will fill that hole. I had originally bought the SLP lid because it had the air provision, and looked rather factory, but now that I have gotten into my car more, the air system went bye bye, so I got the plug. My advise, get the plug, and rip off the air while you are at it, and have it turned off in edit. 14 lbs of junk that does nothing but clutter up the engine bay anyways.

Did anyone have any problems clamping the lid closed. I just installed my this morning all went very smooth except when I went to clamp the two metal clips in the front of the box to the lid, the lid didn't seem to sit right. The front lip of the lid between the two clips had to be tucked into the box. Does that sound right, or did I screw this up?
Thanks

when i got mine i put the lip on the outside and checked it periodicly, and one of the clamps kept popping off, now it is tucked into the air box and the clamps hold nice and tight, no more clamp popping off

i just installed my SLP lid today. the only problem was that the one i got was for 98-99 models which doesnt contain the hose that connects to the lid and onto the other hose. solved that by calling slp and ordering the kit. Other than that the lid fits fine....yea u have to tuck the lid in between the two clips. i dont thinbk it ribs against the hood but will check right now.
