Unhappy Price For My Wrecked Firebird?!?!

Ok, I explained about my 1998 Firebird (V6) being totalled by some ******* on the Thruway while I was on my way to class in the Appearance & Detailing Forum...anyway, I got my insurance money as well as the car, which I decided to strip the interior to fiberglass/customize everything because I'm getting a Trans Am (or Formula) 98-up in Spring.

So I've got the car in my driveway, not sure what to do with it...and some guy stops by and asks if I'm selling it, which I am lol But I'm not sure what price to ask.

The rear passenger end is smashed and the front bumper is off as well as the front passenger side and hood is crunched in. The front of the frame is shifted and has to be pulled. The engine is completely untouched from the accident, and the car only has 63,000 miles on it. The spoiler on the hatch is scraped pretty bad on the passenger side, but all the windows as well as the windsheild are in perfect condition. Like I stated, the dash, door panels and center console I'm keeping (and I'm taking off my SLP loudmouth dual exhuast) but the guy would be getting 3 good condition 16" chrome rims that are from a 2000 Z28.

What the hell price should I ask? Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated...

Not much - a I am bidding on a 100% in-tack 98 V6 Camaro - they are only going for $2500-3000 - and than is in good shape. One that is totalled isn't worth very much - not even the engine.

Hmmm...I don't know what kind of deal you're getting but for my zip code, mileage, etc...blue book value of the bird is about 9 grand...which apparently my insurance company agrees with because thats what they gave me. So I wouldn't expect to get a 1998 Firebird/Camaro with 60K miles for $2500 lol...

But anyway, anyone else?

One sold the other day for $2300 - out of Cal. There is 2-3 others with $4000-5000 price tags that are fully loaded with T-tops the works. So they are out there you just have to look.

I really hope you get more out of it.

It seems like some of you don't believe me about the value of Firebird's in my area (Western New York)...sooo....lol

http://kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/kw.kc.ur?kb...rebird&7;PO;C1

^^^ Just over what my insurance company gave me.

I guess it does matter what area your're in, but I just cant imagine even a V6 which goes for like 20 grand new to be 3 grand just because it is 6 years old. Around here you'll get a 98 civic for like 3 or 4 grand lol. I guess New York sucks sometimes...

Damn! That's in the showroom too! I wonder what the ones on the lot go for.
