Default Tell me what you think about this car.

I have been looking around for some time now, and managed to find this car about a mile away from my house. IT has 70,000 miles, is in good condition with only a few minor blemishes, and seems to drive great. I noticed a slight rumbling sound comming from the rearend of the vehicle while driving it, but nothing to terribly bad...just noticeable. The car has absolutely nothing done to it. It is bone stock and drives like it has never been beaten on.

So tell me what you think. They are asking 15,500 for the car and I feel it is a bit high. How much do you think it is worth?

I think if you could knock it down to 12k, you would be getting yourself a good deal.

be carefull with the rearend. when i bought my car it had only a slight rumble in the rearend and a few months later i took it in and they said if i would have driven it much more the tires would have fallen off because i had no bearings. i would recommend getting it looked at before getting it.

If it were a 2000 Trans Am for that price I would say get it. An SS should be 14,000 tops and I would try for 12,000.

What year is the car? 15k does seem pricey so I assume its a 02' since it's at a car dealership you should easily knock it down 2 grand at the minimum, just remember don't let the saleman know that you are interested in the car. My expericance with going to car dealership is that the car gets knocked down 2 grand minimum.

well, if you have been looking for awhile and the others you have looked at dont measure up to this one than you have shown enough patience to know a good deal when you see it.

i paid 14,000 for a 98 ram air m6 with 28k miles that was absolutely mint. granted its not a 2000, but imo it was a heck of alot better deal than paying the same price for a car only 2 years older with over twice the miles.

i would for sure get the rear end checked out before you do decide to jump on it.

id pass it up..go with a Z28 u could get a Z28 and throw a hood on for $600 and pay 2 grand less for the car atleast...SS's are overated..no offense to people who have them, cuz if you got the money its kewl to have one..but if your buying the car..for a fast car...go with the Z28 alot cheaper and same performance. just my .02 cents.

98 BXR: the car is a 2000 Camaro SS and it is Artic White. The car has 70,000 Miles and they are asking 15,500 for it now.

I really think you guys and I are thinking on the same page here. I knew 15,500 was way to high, and to be quite honest I think 14,000 is still way to high and that is what blue book lists it at.

I saw the car and loved it from the start, but I know better than to fall in love with one so I will continue my search.

I really think I am going to just get a Z-28, because it is much more affordable, and will leave me with money to buy parts or a new hood and spoiler from GMMG.

Another thing I forgot to mention, the tires are going to need to be replaced. The fronts and backs are both extremely worn down so I know that would be a set of shoes on all four corners right off the bat. That coupled with rear end noise makes me more than weary. But if I can get him down to 12,000 I might consider it.

Really all I am particular about is that I want White, LS-1 M6 from 99- on. That is really all I want. What would be even better would be to find someone who has already done a rear swap to a 12 bolt and then I would be set. My stipulations are that I have only about 10 grand to play with ...much past that and I will have to get a small loan from the bank like I was looking at if I bought the SS.

I forgot to menthion, when I was drving it the cruise control randomly turned on and activated while we were driving throuh my town. I found it really odd as I have never had my truck do that before and it is a Chevy. Good thing for me I knew exactly where the controls on the column were, but for anyone that didn't, that would be scary as hell.

Is that somehting you guys ever deak with?

$12,500, maybe $13,000...at the most.

You think some people overprice Camaro's and T/A's....i've been browsing FRC vettes lately...talk about over priced used cars!!

I had a 99 white SS lined up for $10,000 and didn't get it because it was an automatic. It had about 85,000 miles on it but was in very good shape. Talk them down to $12,000 max. At that price you should be able to find a 2001 regular Z28 with less miles.
