Default Never replaced serpentine belt, help

My serpentine belt needs replacing, its pretty cracked, im guessing the stock tensioner pulley is spring loaded so is there any way to lock it in the "loose" posistion so i can replace the belt then put it back to the running posistion?

i forget what size it is but get a closed end wrench put it on and push away from the belt.... this lets the force of the belt allowing u to take it off... just check the digram to see the way it goes back on.

i believe its a 15mm for the tensioner pulley. then turn it counter clockwise i believe. that should relieve the tension and the belt can be removed. then follow the routing diagram on the drivers side inside fender.

never done one of my car yet, but changed the alternator on my friends cavalier and to relieve tension, i put a 15mm boxed end wrench on the bolt of the pulley of the tensioner, and turned it clockwise, if you turn it counter-clockwise the bolt lossens and the pulley comes off of the tensioner, i know a cavalier is not a LS1 camaro but being that its GM i think they would use the same style design with a 15mm and clockwise turning

I have not replaced the serpentine belt on my LS1 engine yet but on my other GM engines I loosen the tension on the serpentine belt by turning the tensioner pulley clockwise. I'd guess the LS1 engine is the same: clockwise on the tensioner.
