My drivers side works fine, except it rattles pretty bad when the window is neither all the way up or all the way down (Something wrong with the "track" maybe?)
The passenger side is much slower, but it works all the time. If you start rolling them up at the same time, the drivers side will reach the top 2 or 3 seconds before the passenger side.
Best of luck, sounds like you may have some kind of short circuit or wiring problem. I really don't think they should have gone out that quickly!

I would get that checked out. They go out but I wouldn't think that fast. Go to autozone and buy one with the lifetime warranty. It wont be fun changing it all the time but it will be a free motor.

My wife's '02 (v6) has 8800 miles on it and the passenger side motor died 200 miles ago- which I think is completely ridiculous. My drivers side is also getting a little slow. I just bought a Siemens and will install it this weekend. Yes, the warranty would still cover it but I would rather get a better motor installed and hope it lasts much longer (besides, it looks like I'm going to need the practice).

59K miles, both work fine, driver side is slower than the passenger one, and the other day after sitting in the cold for like a week, i went to put the driver side window down, it went about half an inch and stopped, went back up, would only go back down half an inch, closed the window and door, let it warm up and blasted the heater, works fine again, still slower than the passenger one tho

My '98 also has the stock motors and they are both WAY faster than the ones my '00 car had. Granted, my '98 only has 11K miles on it, but even when my '00 was brand new with 4 miles on it they were slower than the '98. By the time my '00 had about 8000 miles, the passenger side one was quite a bit slower than the driver's side, and that was bad because the driver's side was pretty slow too.

Not sure if 3rd gens used the same motors as these cars, but my '89 Formula had the stock window motors clear up till I sold it with 110,000 miles and they were just starting to get slow......
