You don't have to learn anything the 'hard way', in fact you don't need to read a lot of these LS1 related threads to be as "smart" as us.
You may not be aware of this, but the majority of us very knowledgable LS1 folks here on LS1Tech have been taking Vitamin G and M for at least a year now.
I will normally supplement the Vitamins G-M with Vitamins A-B. This of course is available from Anheuser-Busch.
It amazes even me, how smart I have become since taking these suppliments....

When I was 16 I tore into my first V8 on my '78 Trans Am. It's been all up(down) hill from there.
The basics are the basics. Transmissions, gears, otto cycle engines, etc... It's all fairly similar in nature. The only thing I've come across that was drastically different was the Wankel in my Rx7. The details of what makes an LS1 different from the 400 in my '78 Formula or the 400 in my '72 Charger is what I come to this site for. So far I've found no better collection of technical expertise on the subject. When I have a question about how my car will behave in a certain situation, I can ask here and find out.
I wouldn't be surprised to know that lots of people on this board started out the same way.
Of course, it doesn't hurt to take your vitamins. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
I know I wouldn't be half as knowledgeable as I am about LS1 cars if I didn't have one I could experiment with.
