Unhappy Help

Well here is my problem............I took my 98' Trans Am to a local bodyshop because of front end damage. They repaired the car and forgot to install my front brake pads. As a result my rotors got fried, and he told me i had to pay for new ones. Then i returned the car because the hood , the front fenders and the bumper had chips in the paint and didnt line up. While the car was there, i decided to go check up on it after a recent snow storm. because i knew it was left outside. Driving by with my two buddies i watched as the guy towed my car WITHOUT A DRIVER in the SNOW into ANOTHER CAR. So i stopped got out and just stared in shock as my car was pinned against a barracuda. From the front driver side fender to the rear is scraped. My rear quarter panel is dented numerous times. He then proceeded to tell me that he only nicked the other car. So i took the keys and the car and left. That happened the 24th of January. Now that i have the time to get the car repaired. I went back there to tell him that he is paying for it and he said that i crashed my own car and now i am trying to get him to pay for it. He then call my parents and told them the same bullshit. My parents told him that he is paying cause they know he did it.There is also other problems with the car now. I have pictures of the damage the day it happened, witnesses and estimates from other shops. So im here wondering if anyone has any advice or input on this? Thanks all help is greatly appreciated.

i say get a lawyer. this could get complicated. his word against yours pretty much. but you were with two of your buddies, so you have the advantage.

Depending on the dollar amount it sounds like you are heading for small claims court. This is definitley a civil matter, not criminal(cops won't get involved)Do you have a written estimate from the shop? Oral agreements ie:your word against his, will get tossed out of court everytime.Something has to be documented and like 99 said get a lawyer involved.Sometimes when a lawyer has the whole story, court can be avoided with a call from his office to your body shop.Good luck.

well, first off. you shouldnt have left with the car. at the time, im sure it seemed like the right thing to do. but now that guy is saying he didnt do anything, and you did it. and the judge might wonder why you left with the car if he damaged it. you say you were with two friends...did they see it happen too?

wear a microphone when you go talk to them again, make sure it records everything, get them to admit to doing it, get them ******* pissed and fired up untill they say "YEAH WE DID IT AND YOU CANT DO ****!" it'll be halarious in court

do you remember which guy was towing it when it hit the cuda? file a couple of lawsuits against the mother *******!

edit: post up their phone number and all their information on here, along with all the people who work their's information. they will get so many phone calls, they wont have time to get any work done

Ok, thats cool. I have no problem with paiint and body guys. I have a problem with body shops that F*** you over. I am not ignorant man, I know whats what, and that there are good shops. I apologize if it came out like all them were bad, that would have been a dumbass statement. I was really talking about my experience with one shop, but I didnt elaborate on it, here is the gist of it:

Had them work on the chevelle
did horrible work
found out they were all drunks
lost money on very bad work
they lied

My uncle is a body guy, so I am cool with body shops. Dang, saying body shops are bad, is like calling an American car gay.

Are we alright now?
