Don't take it personal. Part of it has to do with your first post

Well, since you're looking for viewpoints....

I've only had my LS1 since Dec 27th - and knowing what I know now about them (which isn't a whole lot) I'd bank every penny I could, and in a year I'd dump the Mustang and everything else I could to get another LS1. I'd rather have to work my butt off for a payment on an LS1 than to have a paid for Mustang.

But I'm partial - I've owned over 20 cars and only 1 wasn't a GM - it was German (72 914 - not fast, but had fun factor!)

That's my viewpoint...

Good luck on whatever you go with, even if it is a Mustang

I keep buying different things at different times, we have probably 7 or 8 cars outside now. keep the money, the deals of a lifetime usually occur when the bank account is empty. ...as for me, we spotted an 89 iroc on sunday, looked like it needed a good home

Your selling your LS1 now.

Your getting a new job in a few weeks.

A year from now your looking to drop a forged 347 w/ turbo and built rearend in your stang.

You should re-evaluate your LS1 situation.

Sounds like in a few weeks you'd be able to afford your LS1. A few weeks < a month so I'd see if you could defer one of your payments. I know a forged/turbo motor + rearend isnt going to be cheap, you'll have to have saved some $$$ for that. $$$ that could be used to keep your car.

I'd get a motorcycle with all the mod money you were planning. at least give one a try. get something like a V-Max, FZ-1, or Busa since you're in Houston and there are no curves (don't need the turn clearance of a full blown sport bike). these are all good bikes, do the research on them. and don't buy new, buy used, or you'll be ripped on price, especially when you try to sell

I would sell the mustang and cash in and continue to pay off the TA. I had the sam dilemma last year. I still had my 94 firehawk when I bought my 2k2 WS6. So I sold the hawk and made it through until I got on my feet and there are no regrets for me. I am really happy.
