Its not an SS!!!

I like both, and I respect Zs just as much as any SS, and I am fully aware that an SS is basically an appearance package. I know some z28s are faster than some SSs, but for those of you saying that you would rather have a Z28 over an SS are in denial. That is one of the craziest things I have read. We all know deep down you would rather have an SS.

Looked at both Z28s and my SS before I got it. I just couldnt pass up the way a SS looks over a Z28. I relly like the Z but the SS takes the cake in my book! I love it to death, and all the attention that an SS brings is also very cool!

Why is that? So that it will look more powerfull, and people who don't know anything will think it's faster?

A total of 42,098 Camaros were built for the United States.
Z28 or B4C Special Service - 13,614
SS - 11,191
(B4C totals are 708, which leaves 12,456 Z28. I regard a B4C as a Z28 anyway.)

I personally think SS's look a lot better than z28's. If i was gonna get a non-ws6 or non-ss i would get a T/A and i think it's a lot more fun racing with a stick than an auto but that's all just my personal preference. My brother had an a4 T/A non-ws6 and people would give him crap all the time about it being an auto until he took them for a ride in it.

I've had to do that with mine.

My "debatable" argument:
SS will hold it's value much over time. I'm planning to own the car forever, and 30 years from now it will be cool enjoying my factory-ordered '02 SS.
I gave up my beloved 1988 Camaro to buy the SS. It was 14 years old, stored winters, MINT condition. But it was a V8 smog-motor (TBI) coupe. In '88, they had the upgraded engine option (TPI), and IROC option. If it was an IROC, I would have kept the car. But since it was "just a coupe", it had little "significant" historic value, so I chose to sell it.
My "non-debatable" argument:
I wanted a 1LE car, SLP exhaust, and SLP "oem" blackwing air lid. Therefore, easy decision, case closed, only the SS could be ordered from the factory with the SLP Up-fits.
==========
Regardless gang, it's almost a silly "debate" -- enjoy your cars!!

I have both a 01 SS and a 02 Z/28 so fricken what? I tell you what for some reason when they get spanked by a Z they are all kinds of pissed whether it be a 03 Cobra to a 02 CETA they get pissed because they got beat buy a Z28. It dont matter and this thread is dumb anyways. All I know is that when my car was stock it could take out a few SS around my part of town. Maybe its just the driver.

I can't believe some of you guys get mad when people expect your Z28 to be an SS. Ok, let me just say that i got an SS and i'm really happy with it. "It's the top of the line in Camaros", and i think that's what people want to hear. There is no second best to SOME people, but forget them, it's your car so screw them! Anyways, I got nothing against Z28's cause it's the same freakin car, except the SS has like 10-15 HP more. If you wanna get mad at something people say, you should get mad when people say... "Oh, you got a Camaro... it's the poor man's Corvette!" What on earth do you say to that? I freakin hate that ****! Another thing that pisses me off is this comment... I have 2 camaros. I got a 99 SS Camaro, and i got a 91 RS Camaro 3.1L V6. I got the 91 Camaro before the SS, and i got it to get to point A to point B. I'm in the Navy and it makes no sense to drive back and fourth from Virginia to Jersey in an 8 cylinder car every weekend, so i got 2 camaros. Besides, i found the 91 for a cheap price. Anyways, another thing that pisses me off is when people say you got a 6 cylinder... 6 cylinder camaro are for girls! **** that! I personally think Camaros should be in V8 only, but if your happy with a V6, so be it! It's your life.

I always refer to my Camaro as a 'Z28'. Most 'car people' that I talk to (over 25) know what a Z28 is. And Z/28 sounds cool. Gm sticks 'SS' on everything. I think it has diminished the lustre of the SS. That said, the SS looks great. Love the spoiler.
