UPDATE: After one week of ownership, car dies on hi-way....
i posted this on camaroz28.com as well, just tryin to get varying opinions...
so im on rt 78 in jersey headin to englishtown, im in 6th gear doin 70mph when all of a sudden everything goes out... the car stalls right in the middle of driving. so i quick pull over and try crankin it... the starter turns, but nothin else happens. i have good voltage from the battery, but it really sounds like there is no fuel goin to the engine. could the fuel pump have just died in the middle of the driving?
also i filled the tank (with 93) right before we left, and the guage was registering below E when the key was in the "on" position... any thoughts?
Edit: also my car is bone stock (with 25k on the clock)

I would guess this is electronic problem(relays/computer), not mechanical (fuel pump). Normally, these fuel pumps don't just go out...they are a pretty reliable part. Have you done anything such as change cd players, wire mods or anything electricle?

It probably won't be covered under warranty if it was messed up by whoever in stalled the XM radio. BTW: The check gages light supposedly only comes on when you are about to run out of gas.

what warranty do you have on it? is it still the 3/36 factory or another warranty such as the GMPP warranty? i wouldnt worry too much about it, im sure whatever the part that failed would be under the warranty, good luck

With the car just dying just like that, I would think something got fried. When a mechanical part goes plop, you will generally hear something and it will slowly go bad, as in still drivable for the most part, like the fuel pump...you would loose alot of power, but still be able to idle for 1-2 minutes, or the fuel filter, that would let you drive just not much gas for a while. Unless you just got some horrible gas with mud in it (happenned to me once (iron build-up)...long story).
And if you are by chace under the factory warranty, then you will be covered. If the service manager tries to tell you the XM caused something...punch him in the face and tell him to do his job.
