LS1Tech.com enables free video sharing for its members.

In an ongoing effort to provide services to the LS1/LT1 Performance community, LS1Tech.com has added a video hosting portal to the web site. Powered by Vidiac, the LS1Tech video hosting site enables members creating LS1 & LT1 related videos to upload and share their videos with the community. Videos are hosted and shared for free, and sponsors are encouraged to participate in this new service to help the community. So log into video.LS1Tech.com and enjoy!

Questions using video.LS1Tech.com

What type of connection do I need to watch a video?
All videos are streamed at 400Kbps, so a broadband connection with low latency is a required minimum. If you are experiencing choppy video, slow load times, or other play errors, make sure any other background programs that could be using your bandwidth are closed. Users of cable modems can experience problems at high traffic times such as late at night or at lunch time. This is because Cable modem bandwidth is shared at your ISP between you and your neighbors, and their activity can affect your latency.

How do I upload a video?
On the main page (video.LS1Tech.com) click the “Browse” button and find the video you created on your computer. Fill out the description, enter your email address and agree to the conditions. Click “Upload Video” and your video will be uploaded onto the system. Do not close your current browser window until you see the confirmation screen telling you, your video has been successfully uploaded. Once the server has optimized your video for streaming, an email will be sent to you giving you the web address to view and share your video. Optimization may take a few minutes.

What file-types can I upload?
The system accepts MOV, WMV, MPEG and AVI. Real Media (RM) is no supported.

What are the file size and bandwidth limitations for my video?
Please keep your videos under 7 minutes long. Longer videos will be broken into multiple videos in 7 minute increments. The system supports up to a 100MB upload, and you have no bandwidth limitations.

What types of videos are not allowed?
We do not accept videos that show pornography, illegal activities, illicit or copyrighted material. Please read our terms and conditions if you would like further clarification on content limitations.

Can I upload a ripped episode of Car and Driver TV, or Top Gear?
No, these are copyrighted works and are not allowed on the system.

Can I upload non-LS1 related videos?
In an effort to keep videos.LS1Tech.com relevant to the LS1/LT1-performance community, please limit your uploads to videos regarding Camaros, Firebirds, Corvettes, GTOs, CTS-Vs and any other LS1 or LT1 powered automobiles. If you have a car video that is not LS1/LT1 related we encourage you to upload them to StreetFire.net. If you have a non-automotive video you would like to share, please upload it to FreeVideoBlog.com.

I uploaded a video and it is not showing up on “Recent Uploads”?
All videos uploaded to the system are reviewed before being published to the main site. You can still share your videos while they are in the moderation queue, but if your video is deemed off-topic it may be moved off LS1Tech.

How do I download a video to my computer?
In order to protect the creators of videos from unauthorized distribution of their videos, all videos are streamed from the server, and cannot be saved locally. Additionally this enhances server performance, as a “Right Click Save as” link can fill the web server queue with multiple low-speed connections degrading the experience for everyone. If you see a video you like and want to see again, bookmark it, and come back to watch it any time. Feel free to share the web address with your friends and family.

How do I sponsor the LS1Tech video system?
If you would like to support the LS1 video community, please contact our partner, Vidiac Networks, for sponsoring our video system. Vidiac provides in stream video ads to support our community.

I have a tech support question, who do I contact?
If you have further questions, technical problems, issues or suggestions, please contact our partners at StreetFire.net on their technical support forum. Registration is not required to post on the StreetFire.net tech support forum.

Who is Vidiac Networks?
Vidiac is a video hosting company started and wholly owned by the founders of StreetFire.net, who are also long-time members of LS1Tech (Shinkaze, Chris Jones, & JFarber). Vidiac provides servers, bandwidth, and software management of the LS1Tech video application.

So what is the web address to watch videos?
Video.LS1Tech.com click and enjoy!

Another vote to make this a sticky, especially in the multimedia and street racing sections.
