Default How come my gauges dim under hard acceleration?

Obvious this is only something I notice at night when the gauges are lit up, but why would this happen? They brighten right up when I let off the throttle. Is this a sign of something going wrong or is this normal? Thanks.

Either your alternator or battery. How old is the battery? Any aftermarket stereo equipment?

No aftermarket stereo equipment. Should I be worried? Also how much do alternators run and what about batteries (a good battery)?

re-built one will be about 100 to 120 and the same for a good battery like an optima red top.. But do not put a new battery in if your alternator is bad or it will drian your new battery.

You better pray it's just the battery, because I had to replace the alternator and it was a pain in the ***. Not hard, it's just a tight fit to get in their with both hands.

It's the alternator. I replaced mine and that problem went the way of the dodo.
