Default anchors in the trunk

I need to know if these are connected to anything such as the gas tank? I want to take them out.

yea, you have to take them off to get to the rear shocks, unless you dont mind cutting up the carpet

all they do for me is leave markes in my trunk separator when my t-tops in off

I'm assuming not, you probably just need to pull the carpet to get at the rear shocks. Someone back me up on this.

These are just child safety anchors. The rear shocks bolt up on the sides where the rear deck meets the back seat. This link should help you if you want detailed shock info: www.ls1howto.com

the rear shock mounts near the back seats, pretty much below the sail-panel speakers, the anchors are for child safety seats only, nothing else, unless you cut the carpet under the plastic sides you have to remove the anchors to pull up the carpet
