Default Exhaust line

My Exhaust line on the right side of the motor is not blowing unless it is hooked up to the computer, it will not blow on it own, has any one had this prob or know what I should check. My service engine light came on and I hooked it up and I checked my o2 and cat. conv. but found it was the exhaust line. What should I check any ideas???

Are you talking about your egr? When you say it will not blow unless it hooked up to the computer do you mean the wireing harness is not plugged in?

Clarification Please.

I cant tell what you are talking about based on that description.

Side note:
If something doesnt work when its disconnected... maybe it should be connected.

What do you mean by exhaust line?
- exhaust manifold
- y-pipe
- I-pipe
- over-axle pipe
- muffler
- tail-pipe
- EGR (Exhahust Gas Recirculation)
- AIR (Air Injection Recirculation )

So Sorry guys I know I should have been more clear on what it is, I need to find out for sure what it is, but I do believe it's the EGR or the Air injection recirculation. I do know that it does not need to be hooked up for it to work because the other side blows just fine. Let me get back to you and let you know for sure what line it is. There are two of them one on each side of the motor and they are towards the top. I do know they go to the exhaust system some how. Sorry thats all I have for the time and I do understand if you don't know what in the world I'm talking about...

It's the air system. Stands for air injection recirculation, I believe, and is designed to help the cats. Do you have to pass emissions? If so, do you know what kind of test they use?

I was told that it is a Fresh air tube, for emissions. It comes off the manifold. With it not blowing do I need to worry about it, or would it cause a lose in horsepower???

Your not going to loose any power but you will get the ses light, and as blkz28 said it helps keep your cats function.
