My car hasnt seen much beating on, a few WOT highway runs, etc but its never seen the track, when im done w/it, hopefully soon, it will have stall, headers, cam and a tune, the car has been maintainded well, and providing a leak down test/compression test both show up acceptable, will it be alright to start racing it? not like every day, but i mean tracks/street races on the weekends? i know everyone says the engine lasts a long time w/proper maintenance, which it has had, but what about when you move from regular driving to racing?

I got my car with 32,000 miles on it. I've since added 83,000 HARD miles on it. Its been autocrossed a handful of times. It probably has 50+ passes down the drag strip. I drove it everyday for three years and I would not park the car for the day unless I had gone WOT at least once. Burnouts. Donuts. General hellraising. I just put a cam, headers, and a bigger stall in it at 115,000 miles and the car is still running strong (knock on wood). As long as compression and leakdown test out fine, and you maintain the car, you're good to go IMO.

My car has 107,000, about 90,000 of that was police service its a B4C! I bought it from a jurisdiction that maintained their cars very well. It was never a auction car. The point is in 3 weeks or so its getting a $7000 supercharger, a custom painted SS hood, and already has a ton of mods. Mileage isn't a big thing on a maintained car. You'll be fine!
