tune up and get it scaned.... i mean your 60 is not too great with the right street tire you should be able to cut a 1.8 on that car but in any carse id imaging anything with those miles needs everything changed (fluids,plugs,filters,wires..ect) i bet you when you get done with a real comprehensive tune up things will look better

theres no way an unstalled A4 car is cutting 1.8s on a street tire!

he definitely needs to go through and get a total tune up though.

Drag radials are not street tires even though they can be driven on the street. They wear alot faster and can be very scary in the rain at highway speeds. They are awesome dry weather tires but not the best in rain, sleet or snow.

Regular street tires like F1's and KDW's are good for 2.0 60' times with a few banging out 1.9's. The Nittos on the other hand will definately get him into 1.7-1.8 range if he heats them up real good.

Considering The weather and your 60' time those times are right in line for a 99 A4 car. My stock 1/4 mile times in 80ish degree weather was 13.5 @ 103 on a 2.1 60' time. The 1/8 numbers were 8.7 @ 83. But this was at a track with slightly cooler temperatures then what you described and with a slightly better short time.

It may sound boring but when I had the stock torque converter all I had to do was mash the gas off a straight idle to get a 2.0-2.1 60' everytime. Whenever I would try and stall up I would spin like crazy. Get a tune-up and hit the track when the temperature outside is under 80 degrees. Just one run floor the gas off a straight idle and see what she does. I bet you'll be very happy with the result.

Good luck
