Default Throttle body????? HELP

What is the best throttle body for the stock LS1 engine. If I buy a 90mm TB, will I also have to buy the 90mm intake manifold. Really, what is the biggest size TB that I can get for the stock LS1 engine.
Thanks,
Jason

Stock sized tb should be enough for stock, in fact they are enough to support motors with mild cams and heads. Maybe with big cubes, cam and heads there is a need for larger tb. The 90mm tb will only work with fast LSX 90mm intake.

Get your stock throttle body ported. I know CamminBeasst does them. Send him a pm.

Without enough big mods (heads, cam, blower, etc), a 90mm would more than likely hurt the performance on a stock/near-stock/bolt-on LS1.

like they said, just hand port and polish the stock TB... thats what i did. and even with my 400rwhp i dont think an aftermarket TB would be worth the $$.

start off with a lid, filter, etc, then headers, exhaust, and some suspension.

Or an ls2 intake, the biggest throttle body i've seen for a ls1/ls6 stock intake is a 85MM, BBK makes a 80MM, but for a close to stock setup the best results have been seen with a 78MM throttle body.... either a FAST 78MM to bolt right up or have your stock one ported and polished. These show the best results for a stock to mildely built ls1.
