Jaberwaki, I like the fact that your blunt with people. We need more brutal honesty in this world.

I had a question about the 9 inch.
How much more does it weigh than a 12 bolt?

How much more expensive is a lightweight 9 inch than a regular one?

How much power would you need to be making to worry about breaking a 9 inch with posi as opposed to one with a locker?

they feel about 30-35 lbs heavyer, but i never weighed them(just arm gauge)

the lightweight 9" housing can be bought for 1000 bucks from billingsly(does not include internals)
a moser 9" is about 2200 with internals. without doing the math i would say expect to pay about 500 more for lightweight...

with the right posi, the 9" posi set up has been deep into the tens(i know for sure) and posably into the high nines (on a none 4th gen fbody)
lockers have been single digits several times

This is worth a Sticky but IMO I think we need a "Ask Jaberwaki" pop up like the 'Jeeves' one.

Welp I have know Jaber for years personally as one of my brothers, Dont take anything he says in the post to be personal towards anyone. But it is his opinion and well most of it is fact in the stickied post. but he is right if you know him or have met him you will know where he stands on certain subjects. now if he is wrong on anything in that post or any others and is proven so he will admit to it. (ahem) such asthe No2 N2O issue..... i was on the phone discussing the whole thing with him and i made the same mistake as well... he also added the whole fast and the furious junk in there to "lighten the mood" and not sound so serious. So please i hope nobody takes anything personal to any extent towards any stereo type of "car enthuisiest". this is a general guide that can be used for any LSX based vehicle even LTX car.

very good info but in the begaining you said N2O is 2 parts oxygen and 1 part nitrogen. the 2 is after the N because it is 2 parts nitrogen and 1 part oxygen, you just got it backwards...but otherwise great write up!

I put a note at the start of the thread just now, so hopefully people won't keep getting confused about that

I've had five F-body's including 2 LS1's and 2 LT1's, I'm now on to my first Vette. I wish I had read a write up like that years ago before I even bought my first air filter, it could have saved me a lot of
