Poignon: Try not to hijack threads and please turn the caps lock off, it makes things much easier to read.
To get started read all the stickies you can find and make judicious use of the search button.
For rear ends most everybody goes with a 12 bolt or 9". 9" being stronger.

i think you are asking what rear end would be strong, without having too much gearwhine? is that right?
If so then the answer is 2 parts....
1. if you have an M6 then a 9" , if you have an A4 or A3 then a 12 bolt is plenty.
2. how much noise a rear makes has to do with , 1. who assembled the hogs head. 2. what type of additive you use( i use ford gear oil additive and my 9" is quieter then most peoples 10 bolts

lockers are loud, posi's are much more quiet.
The second part of your post looks like you want to know if you should go ram air or supercharger.
The answer is , it depends....
For a reliable boost set up it will cost major $$$ , if you have plenty to spend(read 15k) then i can recomend the right people to see for a boost setup.
If you are working on a tighter budjet then boost is not for you and ram air is a great mod. but you dont have to change your hood to get ram air. kits like the FTRA and SSRA both can be used with the stock hood.

this was the rough draft, the final draft was made a stickey and should be free of spelling errors...
