How far did you go for a LS1?

I went about 40 or so miles to get my SS, not bad compared to some of you people. I don't think that I would much over 150 miles to get mine. I would just stay patient and find one round here that i like, which happened to me.

I live in Western Massachusettes and went to Long Island (Amityville to be exact) to get my SS. Technically speaking it wasn't very far (mileage wise), but if anyone has ever gone from Mass. to L.I. on a Saturday evening/night, they'll know my pain. 5+ hours of traffic. Worst part is that the dealer sucked. I should have seen it as an omen that he was in Amityville. Don't go to Arnold Chevrolet, although I think he's moved since I bought the car.

To me it was a no brainer, though I'd of liked a 6 spd at 15K for a clean as hell 2000Z28, leather, ASR, 17in Chrome 10 spokes, etc, etc, from PA was a steal.
I got the car in 2004 with a little over 20K miles. From the mileage and the looks I knew the car was garaged all winer(PA), was owned by a person with a second vehicle, obviously, and probably saw only limited rain/garaged. I don't 100% know the details since I bought it off a GMC/Pontiac lot, but it stands to reason. Nice thing about buying from a dealer is the superb inspection and detailing that comes with the car as well as the brand new KDWS...worth the drive in my book.

I live in Buford, Georgia and got my 99 SS from Austin, TX with a little over 11K on the clock for $15K a few months ago. So that's about 1000 miles one-way? Had to have it...exactly what I wanted. Black SS hard-top six-speed with low miles and no modifications.

760 miles
A lot of people would rather suck it up with higher prices locally (within 200 miles) but I could not justify paying 2-4K more.
It cost me approx. $300 round trip (rental+ drop off fee and gas there and back). Maybe I could have gotten one closer ... maybe not. WS6's aren't exactly found on every street corner around here. I've only seen 2 others anywhere within 35/40 miles of here (none were for sale). SS's are the same way ....

140 miles each way
Had to go from Pasco, WA to Post Falls, ID. I was going to buy a black SS, but hesitated because it didn't have leather and T-tops (if you are going with a car like this, T-tops are an absolute must - helps my mullet air out). I got back from a business trip with a change of heart and went down to buy it and it was gone. I found my Z28 on the internet and bought it without seeing it. Aside from a drivetrain clunk (they fixed the front yoke/u-joint but it persists - I'm thinking tranny bushing or torque arm mount), everything is great. Gotta love that GM Certified warranty...

I'm going to be traveling a little over 800 miles from Georgia to Missouri to get my new 2002 Silver T/A WS6. I'm opting to pay a company to just pick it up and deliver it for me.
