Unbolt converter from flywheel then unbolt and drop trans, some extensions and swivel sockets will help here, as will a trans jack The torque arm can be a real PITA, I took it off from the rear, and slid it out of the mount on the tranny
Install new converter in trans, the instructions will tell you how to tell it's fully engaged in the front pump, and if you add some fluid, or fill it
Reattatch trans to car, then line up the bolt holes on the converter and flywheel, install those bolts, then start the car and put trans fluid in, again the instructions that come with the converter should tell you how much fluid, and whatever specific proceedure they use to get the converter full of fluid
If you do end up getting a new converter, GET A TRANS COOLER, heat is an automatics worst enemy, your tranny will thank you for using a cooler

What year is your car?? I'm guessing a 00 or so. I've built up a couple F-bods and the LS6 intake wouldn't be my first upgrade. The first thing you should do is get some exhaust. But you need to tell us your budget before we can help you out. Also what you're upgrading for. Street, RR or Strip only. But without hesitation exhaust is what I would do first.
