check in the auto section or tuning section they should be able to tell you for sure. I don't see why it couldn't be done at the same time. My tuner said he would take care of the trans when he tuned mine for the headers. So I guess that's what he ment.

What software are you going to use? I don't think it can be removed all together, it's just raised to like 2000ft lbs or so. Do you plan on making more torque than that?

its on automatics it just gets in the way by only producing a certain amount of torque at certain times like off of a take off, it kinda doesnt allow the car to do its full potential.

ive deleted my torque management, and there is no HUGE difference from. The shifts will be slightly more firm, and you might scratch second a bit more (in an a4) but powerwise, it wasn't really noticeable for me. And, unless you have dr's you should be able to light em from a stop by just flooring it! unless you have real nice tires that have been warmed up!

While present on all years TM doesn't seem to be as much of a problem on the pre '01 cars. I would see if it actually becomes an issue before deleting it, and even then i wouldn't remove it completely.

i got mine take off, i think for WOT or "performance" or whatever it is labeled, torque management is already off. I just got it removed for part throttle and damn it shifts firm with little gas now.

It's most noticeable at WOT. And IMO that's the only situation where it should be turned off.

Most places will adjust your tune for free in the future as long as you pay for the dyno time. I would leave TM in place until you find out if it is holding you back (car feels like it is slowing down/falling on it's face/pulling timing) before the shifts.
