I decided to go with the Kooks LT's,Kooks ORY and Bassani "quiet Thunder" cat back. My first mod was the SLP lid and Smooth Bellows. I already have a Diablo Sport 2 programmer waiting( custom tune will come later). My next mod will probably be the gear in the rear but after that I'm not really sure. This website is great!

Converter. Don't worry about the gears, get a high stall converter. Stall speed 3000-4000, TCI/Vig/Yank. Size laregly depends on what size cam you might get in the future. Search can go a long way. Try to somewhat plan/match cam and converter to one another.
You will also need a transmission cooler and it is recommended to pick up a shift kit, transmission temperature gauge, sticky tires (drag radials, like Nittos), a basic tune to change shift points and edit torque management and subframe connectors.

The shift kit is there to compensate for the converter loosening up the shifts. It is not necessary, but most everyone that gets a converter seems to do that in the process.
Yes the 3.23 is enough gear. You might drop a tenth or so with 3.73's, but that's nothing compared to the 0.5+ you'll drop with a converter so wait and do that later.
THE BEST SINGLE MOD YOU CAN DO FOR AN A4 IS A HIGH STALL CONVERTER. Once you make the switch or ride in a stalled auto, you will understand. It is night and day difference, the stock converter is disgusting.

by far the torque converter. i am running 12.5 with a SSF 3500 2.5str converter on 2.73 gears. i preach a converter to all autos. by far the best mod. also get a tranny cooler.
