plates?

how many letters/numbers can you put on your License plate?

You have to have at least 6 but i think the most is 7, maybe 8?

Min and Max can vary from state to state.

In VT it's min:2 Max:7 which holds true in most states, but a few states have higher minimum's and allow a max of 8

NH is 7 for passenger plates, 6 for conservation plates.

Sorry - used to be 9, dont know when they changed that - used to work on that vehicles system(now work on Driver License system), they store 9 positions for the plate number and rather strangely sometimes........
