Unhappy bogs at the begining of second gear

i have a problem when i hit second gear when racing. when i get on it in first and then shift to second the car bogs down for a second and then it will take off and i have no problems in any other gear. Does anyone have an idea what it could be?

Are you hitting the rev limiter in 1st ? What rpm is it bogging at when you shift into 2nd ? I hit 1st to about 5200-5400 rpm shift into 2nd and the rpms are at 4k right away....is it bogging at those rpms?

I would suspect you are stepping into knock retard
and/or perhaps a badly tuned low speed mixture, and
either have to wait for the KR pullback to fade or the
short trims to bring your mixture around. All of this wants
logging, to see. Speculation is pretty pointless.

U think its funny right. Its not funny when my car pulls up to 6600 rpms and yours only pulls to 6000. The reason i raised the rev limiter to 6600 is because thats what it will pull up to with the cam . i have a 226/226 with a 584 lift and a 1.11 lobe seperation.I also put comp 918 springs, thunder racing hardened pushrods, and titanium locks and retainers.

you did not answer the questions....
if you do then i might be able to help, if you just want to argue.... i let my car do that for me

You may really want to consider ARP rod-bolts or equivilent if your spinning it that high, especially on a 98 which are known for weak rodbolts, there was a guy here shifting at 6600 and his rodbolts let go and shot the piston thru the block. Its a very good safety measure and $70 to save a few thousand on a new engine is a good deal. Just lookin' out for ya man.
