Default looking in to ls1 - insurance and more

well im looking at some ls1's .. just looking at insurance rates and more but i had my dad call in and check the rates and it would be around 150 a month for insurance on an ls1 and 140 for a svt lightning - im leaning more towards an ls1 plus better gas mileage on the ls. is that a pretty good price for insurance a month? considering im 18 years old?

Not bad, but have him put the ls1 in his name and with you as a driver, that can further reduce your insurance cost

$150 a month for full coverage?! How old are you dude? That's a pretty sweet deal, I'm 25 and I paid State Farm $146 for full coverage (accident free) before I switched to Progressive. I pay a lot less than that now, but that's not for full coverage anymore... that's for 50,000/100,000 with limited tort and $500 deductible.

Actually insurance rates for the 99-00 are a little bit less than 01/02's. My insurance guy couldn't really give me a good answer besides, "They changed a few things between those years."

Im 24 and pay just under a hundred a month for my 99 SS with a 250 deductible on everything. Its classified as my secondary car though since my trucks my regular driver. My last ticket was a speeder 18 over, about 4 years ago. You can actually save $ on insurance putting a second car on as your primary car with liability only sometimes.

Talk your dad into putting it in his name as a secondary car fopr him with you as a driver. Rates will plummet and if anything did happen you can say you asked to borrow the car for the day and he let you.

Uhh, I guess its not bad. I'm 19 and pay $150 a month. Insurance and title are under my name as a daily driver. This is just liability with Farmers

This is the real reason they stopped making these cars. The guys that they appeal to the most can not afford the insurance.

I'm an old dude, full coverage, good driver record, married and live in the boonies, 55 dollars a month with Allstate.

I would be willing to pay more if I could be young again!

I'm 33/single with no accidents ever and no tickets in 14 years and I pay $100 a month for my 2000 Z. Which I think is ridiculous. I only paid $75 for my last vehicle (a brand new 3/4 ton crew cab gmc) and it was worth 3 times what my z28 is.

LOL, get married and it really goes down. I have three vehicles on my insurance. New Honda CRV, 01 Dodge ram 4x4, and my 2000 S10. Including my homeowners insurance I pay about $250 a month. Not too bad I would say. 27 years old. No at fault accidents in last 10 years and no speeding tickets in last 4. Wife is the same. Oh $250 ductable on comp and collision. Midgrade coverage for liability ect ect. Oh rental reimbursements also
