No way man Displacement on Demand will be a sure success, I know it! Of course GM knows what they're doing! Just look at the first gen of 8-6-4 caddy shut down cylinders back in the 70s (early 80s?), the aztek, malibu maxx SS, piston-slap, "wide track" marketing, giving each member of an Oprah audience a G6, but leaving them with a $7000 tax to pay Uncle Sam, the 70's, Buick, most of the 80's, the V6 monte carlo SS, the $60,000 cadilac allante`, the nomad concept car, retro styling, purchasing SAAB, giving the 'OK' to the phrase "Born From Jets" as SAAB's catch phrase, sticking with a 4 speed auto when bmw is using 7, and of course, discontinuing the F-bodies citing lack of sales numbers, but only coming out with three commercials in five years for them ... I'm sure they'll be fine!

I get 22 mixed driving, If its just a highway trip I get around 27+ depending on how fast I am going. If I am ******* the car I get around 18. I love my Manual.

Yea, well, after I get some LT headers, I plan on getting a madz28.com tune and getting all the settings changed, like fan temps, emissions, skip-shift, thats the only reason I still have it, figure I'd get all the stuff done at once.

Thats so true. I just don't feel the need to drive around like a maniac all the time. I am gonna say that whenever someone asks me "Why would you this car if you were just gonna drive slow?"

I get between 14 and 18. I do about 90% city driving, and my commute to work is 1.7 miles each way, so it never really gets a chance to warm up.

I just got back from a Cleveland to Toledo and back trip and got 27 MPG....this is with a few WOT on-ramp runs, an average speed of 80mph, and about 40 miles of city driving in between. Not bad for over 110,000 miles on the clock. For the record I use 6th gear for anything over 60mph, and it cost me $35 to fill up after I got back into Cleveland. And my girlfriend wanted to take her Cobalt instead of my Camaro because it would be better on gas.......pshhhhhhh

There is NO lag whatsoever in the Displacement on demand system, I too what skeptical, I'm a GM tech and have driven it in every new vehicle GM puts it on, and The only way you know it even works it to watch it on the scan tool. It cuts in and out it firing order starting with the next cylinder in the firing order when conditions are met, which makes it seamless. Wanna get killer fuel economy, its there, want power its instantly there, no lag at all. its pretty awesome. Oh yea, and I usually get 22-24 MPG mixed 50/50 driving with a lead foot.

I drive about 44 miles (half in stop-n-go traffic, half consistant 35-50mph with lights) every time I go to work, which is about 3/5 times a week. I drive it normally and get on it occasionally. (up ramps, pushing lights, etc.) I get 16mpg this way, and am paying about $35-$40 a tank right now. I usually make it 250 miles a tank in this traffic.
When I have to drive it long distances (a trip, avg 50-80 mph in 6th) I get about 26mpg.
