24mpg highway....I still think I can do better.I'm thinking the O2 sensors might need to be swapped out...they have over 100k miles on them!

Window stickers for these cars when they were new stated a mpg of 28 for highway (M6).There should be a little more mpg to squeeze out...

I know we all shouldn't be worrying about mpg with big old V8s under the hood but,I also like to use mpg as a good indicator as to when something is not quite right with a car...

Of course I also pulled 28 mpg on a straight highway trip. Nice to tell my friends that my 325+hp sports car running 12's in the 1/4 can also can get 28mg. ;-)

Sure beats my jeep, that gets 15mpg if its not windy!

i picked up my 00 m6 z28 a week and a half or 2.. on the way back (all highway) i got a little under 27 mpg with 3 people in the car + trunk full of luggage and ac on... i was verry supprised today i calculated gas mileage and got 19 mpg, all city except ~10 miles highway (i burned enough gas on the onramps to compensate for the highway), my v6 m5 firebird would get about 21 mpg all city (i just got the ls1 a week ago so i was driving the firebird a little nicer)

Edit: forgot to mention this is with 95,000 miles, all stock

Thanks for clearing that up for some of these skeptical people

I have a 98 M6, the fuel economy is excellent! I get nearly 30 mpg on the highway, and 23 around town. I drive very conservative though, due to mounty being present in our area. I will not use 6th gear until I get up around 60 or higher. Your mileage will vary in line with your driving habits.

Usually will fill up with a 1/4 of a tank left with about 240-270 on the tank. I've gotten as high as 32 mpg on the highway.
