Default Help me correct this idiot...

ok there is this guy with a t/a and he says his 0-60 time is like 3.4 sec... im like no chance in hell... i mean we come stock at like 5.4 right? Sti's with awd are like 4.6 stock... he claims with his current mods...
CURRENT MODS:
-STS TurBo 60-1, 5 PSI
-Fast Tech Dyno Tune
-42 LBS INJECTORS
-Hooker Headers
-Hooker offroad Y pipe
-SLP Loudmouth
-B&M tranny cooler
-Optima Battery
-K%N Air filter
-Free air mods
-BMR Control Arms
-BMR strut bar
-BMR Subframe Connectors
-Auto Meter Ultra light Gauges (Boost, Tranny temp, and air/fuel
-Also my badass decals and some OUTLAW LOVE for the XOR!

and a stall converter that it is very possible? oh also, his best time is like a 12.9 at 115... which is pathetic considering he has a turbo... i know he cant do it in 3.4 sec i just dont know exactly how to explain it... someone wanna help me out?

The 0-60 test is all about how you hook off the line

heck I can run a 0-60 in 3.4 sec too, without the turbo.

On a 1.7 60ft.

Looks like he cant drive if he is only running 12.9, so I would say there is no way he could drive a 3.4 0-60 in anything , much less a car that runs 12.9 ! May thats his 60ft time lol

Even if you car made 700hp if you can't get the power to the ground then you 0-60 time isn't even important.

Is his car capable of 0-60 in 3.4? It sure is, he just needs to get rid of the street tires.

I thought the Stock TAs would do 5.2 seconds 0-60, at least that is what I remember from the old ads with Taz and the stop light

ya... idk this guy is real queer in my opinion.. dont turbos usually require shorty headers too? i didnt know u could have hooker headers with an sts turbo but maybe im misinformed... alls i know is that originally he posted a 0-60 time in 2.4 sec... then iw as like wtf how are you gonna exaggerate like that... then he was like o ya my bad i meant 3.4, then i was like still... with ur et being 12.9 that doesnt make sense. Then he made up something about the stall converter not being installed and all this nonsense and i was like wtf... you all should visit his car domain site.. its hilarious. He gives his car this queer nick name and all his friends have queer nick names too. One t/a has a ricer spoiler too... its rather sad.

http://www.wallaceracing.com/0-60_equation.php

This should give an approximate estimation. Granted it's 1/8th mile but it's more accurate than 1/4 mile. FWIW my 0-60 is 3.49. -Mark

he's probably gay as hell, but that could be right. if he runs 12.9 at 115 and I plug the approximate 1/8 times (~8.25@90-92) into that calc (which is probably only an approximation anyway) I get between 3.5 and 3.7. It's all fuzzy math really.

To give a comparison, a local car's 1/8 times (SUX2BU on this board): 6.86@98/1.46 60' = 2.57 0-60. Low-5/High-4 second 1/8-mile cars get to 60 in less than a second.

Hmm 12.9 @ 115, way to go a tenth faster than stock.

But look at the MPH. It's obvious he's making the power, he just can't hook for ****. Which also means a 3.4 0-60 is BS.

Maybe he had a 3.4 second 60' time

Yep it's probably a beast on the highway compared to a stock auto LS1...but I bet a stock LS1 on the same crap all seasons would sit right next to it until the 1/8 or so.

Realistically, if it has what he says it does...it could probably touch the low 120s once in a while on real tire.

A stock 98+ F-body 0-60 time is 4.7 seconds not 5.4 seconds.

I'm at 2.2 seconds from 0 to 60 using that calculator. I wonder if that's right.
