new Trans am owner...
picked up a 99 trans am couple weeks back and i got a some questions. it says formula on the title and in the door but the car has no badges ...is it a ws-6? if so what are the stock specs on a ws-6 i cant find a good page with them all listed...
just by lookin i can see a few mods slp ram air,k&n filter, slp o2 sensor jet perform chip and slp x pipes with quad trumpets and 2 cats...dont ask me why... but i checked when the dealer told me...it still has a rumble but ima cut em off and go true duel...with no cats...but yea the ram air hood is a really light plastic, is that normal for trans or is it after market? whats a good size rim and tire for this car? 17 or 18? w rated tires worth it? ill find more questions later...any advice would help...
oh yea more car info..55 k miles, black on black leather and it has a trans temp gauge and a cylander head temp gauge...is that normal or needed on a car with so few mod's or am i missing something.. the cylander head avg's 190 degres and the exhoust about 220 after runnin at good speeds for awhile... any good shift kits for the A4 you can drop me a link...
since its a daily driver should i look at a stall converter?

post up some pics. thatd be the best way for us to see what youre talking about. a trans am is just a bumper and a spoiler on top of a formula. if it doesnt have ttops or leather then its not a T/A. on a t/a front bumper the fog lights are in the middle on either side of the license plate mount. on a firebird/formula theyre on the outside of the running lights. hope that helps clear up a couple of your questions.

well if it says formula on the title and inside its a firebird formula and the only way to tell if its a ws6 package is if the production code is on the inside of the door, but im not sure if the 99 formula's came with the ws6 package. anyways i hope that helps a little

umm yea i know what your sayin,...it looks like a ws-6 clone iv seen a few but does the ws-6 say formula in the drivers side door or trans am or ws-6? i have leather and t tops as well and i just got done dusting 4 cameros in a row ranging from a 94 z-28 to an 01 SS with ram air and a throttle body...iv driven powerfull cars and it feels like 400 hp at the wheels. i need it dyno'd soon. my best friend works at a big corvette dealership and he scared himself when i let him test drive it...he was shakin when he got out...(he drives vettes all day long btw) everyone thinks ill wrap it into a tree but still.
anyone in or around virginia know of a good dyno tunner. i havent been able to find any...my car looks just like yours...ill get a pic on here ina min...

rofl, you are full of ****.. i never heard anyone saying it feels like 400hp car or people drove the car and come out shaking hands.... stop your bullshit and stop bragging your car.. seems like you dont know anything about it. take it to the good mechanic and let him check out the car. if you really wanna know what your car is then post a good quality pix or check out the JRP stickies..

Welcome. Best first mods IMO are a LID, FREE RAM AIR MOD, AND EXHAUST CUTOUT. I would hold off on getting a CHIP or even a programmer. VINCI and PREDATOR are the best handheld programmer IMO if you decide on getting one. Not sure why you are getting the 02 sensors ( is the car idle rough or stumbling???) A stall will really wake the car up. I wish I would have done a stall before gears. Your milage will suffer from a stall but the SOTP gain and fun factor is worth it.

That was really hard to read. 1, you can't buy, nor do they produce "chips" for these cars, you can only tune them via a hand held or other tuning software, no plugging in a chip and poof your done. 2. Formula's say Formula on the door, Trans Am's say Trans Am, Firebirds say Firebird, unless someone removed them, since you say there is nothing on the inside of the door the car has probably been repainted so its safe to say those words arent there. If there are no RPO #'s on the inside of the door, and you cant tell if its a Formula or TA by looking at it, you need to research before making any other posts! Check the rear tail lights, does it say "Firebird" or "Trans Am" in the center? Your not even sniffing 400 to the wheels unless your camming.
