Default Trying to make a hard decision....what do you think?

Okay so here is the deal. I am in the market for a new ls1. I recently found two cars that I am very interested in and I can't make up my mind on which one I should go for. So here are some of the specs:

2001 SS w/ 40K miles: This car is slightly moded with SLP long tubes, SLP loudmouth, and Z06 rims. The car is in good condition, a six speed, and has t-tops. The Guy is asking $16,500

2001 SS w/ 14K miles: This car is bone stock but it only has 14K miles on it! It was driven by a lady to and from work and thats it. It is also a six-speed and has t-tops. The only difference between these two cars is the price which these people are asking $19000 (hopefully I can talk them down a little bit).

So what do you guys think?

if you can afford it, get the one with less miles. Its been driven by an old lady, and its stock.

yeah. right now.

the other car has been modded, which means someone wanted to go fast.

You'll probably spend more fixing broken parts down the road then the 2500 dollars on the one you know hasnt been abused.

just my .02

if ur spending 16500 already what is another 2000. as said above me ^^ unknown maintenence costs for the car w/ 40k miles could be above 2000. if there are headers on the car then you know that guy has been smashing on it already. virgin cars are always better

SLP longtubes are ****. Go with the 14k mile SS....sounds like a decent deal especially if you can talk him down.

Go for the grandma driven 01. I did the same thing, went with a bone stock car so I could mod it the way I wished.

i say the ss w/ 14k miles. Because the other 1 is already slighty modded. u couldnt take any credit for the work thats been done. if u get the 1 thats stock, u can modify however u want.

I am going to go against the crowd.

Get the affordable one if it is in good shape. These cars can take some abuse and still be a great car. The one with 40,000 has some mods so you do not need to worry about modding since that will only increase your spending.

I see what everyone else is saying about few miles and a lady driving it. But, I have seen even a lady 'romp' on her car to go fast. And, $2,500 is $2,500.

If you can talk her down a bit and afford the difference, I'd go with the 14k car. It's probably been abused less and is ready to be moded exactly how you want.

The 40k SS's price is pretty close to what i would expect, but that 14k price is no where near reasonable.Closer to 17 is more realistic.

16-19 for a ls1 car? hmm where is the option for none of the above? for that kind of money you can get a 98 or 99 corvette.
