Looking at an SS with milaege...
Ok, next week I'm taking a 40 minute drive to look at a Red 1999 SS A4 that a dealer has for sale. They are asking $7,995 for the car. It has 125k miles. Is that about right for the price? KBB says thats under. How are LS1's after 100k? I have a friend with an lt1 that sports near 140k on stock motor and its fine. Is there anything ls1 specific that I should be looking for? The dealer is sending me a carfax report tomorrow.

Damn $8000 for a 99 SS is really good especially around here. I paid $13,900 for my 99 SS 1 1/2 years ago when it had 118,000 miles on it. I got 130,000 Miles on it now and it's still realiable and strong as hell. I would get that car if I were you.

My Z28 has 113K miles, and it runs as strong as the day I got it (at 75K miles ).
Any small block Chevy V8 that is well taken care of should last to over 200K miles, but the LS1, with new manufactruing technologies, will probably run strong until 250K or more.
Pick that car up!

I had 138k on mine, ran like a champ, made good power for a cam only A4, always kept good oil pressure, and nothing ever failed on it save for the A/C compressor. BUT I got the only LS1 F-body I've heard of that had a porous section in the block causing it to leak oil after the LS6 oil pump, so it had to go
