Talking My new Trans am...possibly

Wasnt sure where to post this but here I go.

Many of you dont know me but im a regular over at cz28.com but ive been going here for ages also and yall folks are pretty smart so Im asking for your help.

Me and my grandpa own a body shop, and we buy cars from Adesa Impact which is a salvage sale. Any car totalled for any reason goes there to be auctioned off. With that being said obviously we get aprts dirt cheap (whole sale plus discounts, and labor IS NOT a factor nor is the ability or tools a factor)

Ever since I got my 96 LT1 Z28 ive been wanting a newer car preferablly a Trans Am and tada, finally! a trans am is up for next week.

Its a 1999, interior is nice from what I can see, motors a bit dusty but thats not uncommon with the cars up there since they are opened up constanly and driven around on the lot with hoods n **** up.

Anyhow T, tops auto, traction control, leather, power everything so I guess you could say loaded.

Now as far as body pannels are concerned it doesnt look bad, possibly a little pulling needed.

So with all that **** being said how much do you think I should bid on it, and whats your overall opinion of it?

It just seems like the left rear wheel is tucked in more than it should be.

my dad used to go to auto auctions before he passed away, so i know a lil bit about all this stuff. is the title clear? if so, id say, dont go for more then 6k. it looks to be in fairly good condition from the pictures. keep us posted on what you decide.

6K, are you insane. 6-8K will get you a TA in GREAT shape at an ADESA auction or whatnot. Hell, my friends 98 SS cost him 6500 off a lot in OK with 64K miles on it...you can do better.

Sucks the airbags didn't depoly. I'm with ChocoTaco on this one though, no more than 3k, after you get that fixed which will be at least another 3k, your about 2k away from being in clean title un wrecked LS1 territory.

THen maybe you should get a $500 plane ticket and buy a nicer car where they dont rip you a new one. Also, we say the frame is dammaged b/c it probably is. I drive a 5.0 with full length subframes and was hit at 10mph in a parking lot. It required MINOR frame straightening (off 10mm). And that looks like a lot more than 10mph, hell, my bumper wasnt even dented, just blew the paint off it.

Man, thats a LOT of money, do you know how much a headlight assy costs?? Try $700 for the whole thing unless you find a used one. Yeah, I wrecked my 95 and sold it minus that $700 part . THose cars are NOT cheap to repair.

If you want a good deal on a newer LS1 F-body, check out McAllen, Harlingen, Brownsville, TX. I used to live there and saw some VERY nice deals on those cars. Asking price of 9800 on a 64K mile TA. Heard of a WS6 LS1 going for 6K (DIdnt see it, but guy claims to have sold it for such...riiight, but who knows). I saw some really low prices, 01/02 SS's for 11.5K etc. were a dime a dozen.
