Yes there is a Speed Governor on all of our cars. The limit was dependand on what tires the car came with from the factory. I can't remember the details but I think it was if you had Z rated tires from the factory the governor was set to 165mph and if the car came with I hink it was H rated tires the governor was set to 135mph or so.

159-163 on cars with the good tires (Z rated).
These F cars will do around 175 with factory gearing and the limiter disabled.
They aren't the most aerodynamic cars, and with factory suspension, it's pretty sketchy.
The factory struts are junk, and at those speeds it feels like you're floating.

The sticker in the door of my 01 Z shows it came with T rated tires from the factory which means that it'll only go about 116-118....I think as far as the sticker in the door jamb for the LS1 cars it'll either be T or Z rating.

I don't know where some of you guys are getting those speeds, Every f-car I've owned ran out of steam at @154-157 stock.
Is your car a 6-speed? I think its more likely that while you were watching the road, you actually did hit the rev-limiter in 5th.

The limiter will kick in @ 159-163 MPH. I've had mine at the limiter, and back up to or three times consecutively.
And NO not the rev limiter. If you are hitting the rev limiter in 5th gear, you have gears. Because it can't be done on a bone stock factory car.
I'm well above of the 155MPH mark on the cluster, and the limiter is still in place at the moment.

Man, I am so confused. I know my car didn't have z rated tires, but it will still pull up over 150. I haven't had it above 155, but according to what is being said here, I shouldn't be able to do that. Again, I'm confused.

it'll be printed on the sticker on the driver's side door. if it doesn't say Z in the recommended tire size then it shouldn't go to 150. if it does, then someone has probably tuned the computer, or atleast had the speed limiter done away with.
