He did it once to show me that you can go through the gears w/o using the clutch.
Maybe next time I'll explain it more, I guess this isnt enough.

Right when you let off the gas, the pressure releases and then you firmly shift it into the next gear. Its not as easy as it sounds.

its not hard to shift clutchless
rev it up to the shift point and pull on the shifter
the gear will pop out if you do it at the right point
now apply a little pressure down on the next gear
once the rpms drop it should suck the shifter right in

I don't even powershift everytime that I race. You should mostly use it when you're FULL-ON racing like at the track or a car that actually stands a chance.

I shift my truck('92 Chevy 1/2 ton) occasionally without using the clutch. It only allows that at low rpms and light throttle though. I have not tried it on the SS and don't really plan to.

I heard someone talk about straight-cut gears for a transmission once when talking about power shifting... I didn't do any research because my Google (or whatever search you like) is broken. Anyone know anything about that?
Thanks!
(this is actually interesting to me)

powershifting is then proceeds to give false information to a guy who
does know what it means.

without using the clutch. Both would be stupid. Got it?

i heard the guy that gets those crazy times on stock cars doesnt use the clutch to shift for GMHTP. as a matter of fact, i just might try to dig up that issue to double check, it was from this year because i havent had a subscription that long.
seemed like some kind of voodoo when i first read it, "shifting with no clutch..."

Yes its the not greatest thing for the car, but it was more of a learning lesson for me.
No, nor he or I do that to our cars, I am very picky about the way my cars looks and drives and rarely misuse it.
In any case, your "comment" about brilliant was sarcastic and uncalled for when obviously this was a one time thing.
I dont mind sarcastic comments, and like anyone else, love to learn new things Unit, but somethin about your comment did not sit well. Maybe it was the part where you were being sarcastic about me and my old man.

When you let off the gas to shift the RPMs have to come back up, if you keep your foot down on the gas then the RPMs stay up until very quickly tap the clutch and slam it into the next gear. Not something I would recommend if you can't shift worth a damn, but at least you have your rev limiter!
