Default My first car...

I have recently purchased a 1999 Trans Am. It has 54k miles and the interior looks brand new, we got it for an amazing $10,500. Today my Dad and I flew to Pensacola, Florida to pick it up and drive it home to Tomball, Texas (NW Houston). I'm 15 and will be turning 16 in a few months, so we went ahead and bought the car so I could get some experience with it before I was set loose to drive on my own. I will be cleaning the car tomorrow, it has lots of bugs on it from the 530+ drive today, and I'll take some good pictures and post them. I'm glad I finally have my own LS1, that makes 3 people in my family with black LS1's!! Look for pics on this thread in the next few days...

dude for real, I am 18 and just got my first Ls1, but when I was 15 I couldn't even dream of owning any type of v8. 1 week after I turned 16 I got a speeding ticket. don't do that!!! especially with a TA. Treat it good, on daily driving, then woop some *** when challenged. have fun with it.

im sure you will treat it well. what ever you do leave the traction control on in the rain. my buddy got a 97 vette when he was 15 and totaled it liike that, just learn your car before you try to show it off. practice in an empty lot or something. congrats i bet you've never been that excited before huh

congrats on your new ride, i agree with everyone else here though, be careful, dont think you know everything behind the wheel, at 16 i buried a few of my friends cuz they thought they could drive the sports cars they bought, please dont end up like that. drive like a sane person, keep it nice and respect it and you will have a great car for many many years.

I would usually think... 15 years old and has this car.. he is gonna wreck.. BUT i have thought about that with one of my friends buddy... He was 14 when he got the car... I thought this dude is gonna wreck its way to much power.. He had a LT1 with quite a few mods on it 6 speed... But after 2 years of owning it there isnt nothing wrong with it... He has had a wheel fall off while going down the highway and everything... I think when you own something like this at such a young age you have a bit more respect/responsiblity with it.. All the ppl that had POS cars for thier first ride didnt give 2 ***** what happened to it... I believe this guy might have this car for another 54k + miles... and they all will be put on the car with in a year in a half

Congrats, and be careful. They're a lot to handle if you don't know what you're doing. Take it easy for a good long while.

You are extremely lucky. I bought my LS1 at 18 with my very own hard earned cash. When I was 15 I had a '95 Mustang GT. It wasn't that fast, but I seemed to get speeding tickets all the time. Kids in highschool always want to race. Don't fall for the immaturity. Respect the car and you will be fine. Get cocky and it will be gone faster than you can blink. You don't have to prove to anyone it is fast. So with all that said, congrats on the car. Keep her clean and keep us posted as you mod her.
