Default 400 hp?

Ok my dad just bought a 98 trans am. I is stock except for the exhaust. What would he need to get roughtly 400 hp out of this car. it is an auto.

all bolts, stall, and a good sized cam....

....if that doesn't do it heads will put him over

This can be done MANY different ways, 400 HP isnt really that much

Definitely make sure your motor has every bolt in it...that would be a great starting point...eh Ryan?

Seriously though, he is right. Every bolt on and cam only can land a 400rwhp setup.

ya don't want to be missing any of those huh?

like said there are many ways to obtain 400rwhp but a few simple bolt ons and cam/possibly heads to go N/A

400 hp, or rwhp? 400 is bolt-on's away. 400 RWHP would need that cam!

Then again it might take heads to really get 400rwhp with a stalled auto.

400 rwhp with full bolt ons and cam only is easily acheived....full bolt ons and a good tune....ehhh it can be done...

Don't forget the smaller stuff like a pulley and some free mods helf out with those numbers a bit.
