you also have a zexel torsen differential and an A4 w/3.23's.

it's a trans am. mazel tov.

i just wanna say this loud and clear: NO CARFAX WILL SAY YOUR CAR IS A TRANS AM. TRANS AM IS AN OPTIONAL APPEARANCE PACKAGE, NOT A BASE CAR. THE BASE CARS ARE THE FIREBIRD (V6) AND FIREBIRD FORMULA (V8). ALL TRANS AMS ARE FIREBIRD FORMULAS. NO ONE SHOULD EVER LIST THE CAR AS A TRANS AM, AS THAT IS A PRODUCTION NAME SIMILAR TO WS6.

seriously, stop stressing over the damn carfax. there is no such thing as a "trans am", only a "firebird formula trans am" if you wanna get specific.

no. you have G80 on your car which means you have a zexel torsen limited slip worm gear differential. also, you have an RPO code of GU5, which means you have 3.23's which only came on optioned A4's. base A4's such as mine have GU2 instead of GU5, which means i have 2.73's.

as for proof about it being a t/a, read my above post. no carfax will list as car as a trans am as it is an appearance package, not a base model. your car is a firebird formula trans am. all trans ams are formulas, but formulas are not trans ams.

either way, it's not a base model car. disregard what carfax tells you. they're wrong about stuff all the time. just worry about your door decals and your RPO codes. those are what designates what your car is, not carfax.

i have the factory service manual in front of me and thats how it says to remove and install the roof panel in a little more words. look at your car when the dew is setting if its a HT and you will see the outline of the ttops in it. they were all made the same just a different piece of SMC were used between the two. you would also have to buy the headliner, glass and molding ect. for the new roof.
yeah no ****, that subject has been covered many times. we all know how to put T-tops in a HT car. but its more involved than cutting the skin off and popping in the glass panels like you stated in your previous post. you need to STFU because you have no idea what you are talking about nor are you contributing to the thread. you are just whoring.

relax man, you have a TA. i'd stake my reputation on it. not sure how much that's worth, but you get the idea. i'm sure the above statement will encourage some pokes at me

not sure of any other codes on the list.

As for the carfax, I know i was wrong and Im aware that the TA isnt a base model, that its just appearance package, I just figured when I did my car on carfax and it came up trans am, it differenciated between TA and formula, which i know now that it does not.
as a point of reference, to onto advance auto's parts system. your car will either be a firebird (3.8L) or a firebird formula (5.7L). computers won't differentiate between a trans am or ws6 or formula because they all take the same parts and the preceding 2 are options. again, all trans ams and WS6's are formulas, but only a formula can be a formula. it's kind of like a square is a rectangle but a rectangle is not necessarily a square. yea, what a great analogy. i love me

EDIT-WFT? the site's doing that stuff again where it posts above the post before it. i belong UNDERNEATH the guy's post underneath me

alright, this is going to be your last bit of information and this will give you the last and final word on what your car is. if you do this and still come back with questions, you need banned.

1. Go to local GM dealership with VIN in hand.
2. Step up to service counter.
3. Give dude/dudette VIN
4. Tell him/her you want a build sheet, window sticker and service record.
5. Read them.
6. If you dont want to pay for a window sticker, they should be able to plug in your VIN and give you all the info you want verbally off their computer.

they will be able to tell you the exact date your car rolled off the assembly line and what dealership it was sold to. they will be able to tell you the original color and all the OEM ****. everything that car left the factory with will be at your fingertips. wether is came as a formula with T/A apperence package or whatever. you will know the exact specifications of your car.

I understand what your saying choco, I just put it out wrong. I know how all the trims and engine codes go, I just "thought" the computer differenciated until I proved myself wrong. thanks though
