what do you mean by just stock?....stock bottom end? stock as in no bolt ons? what......if you had a good set of heads, good springs and valvetrain, with a good exhaust and good intake set up it should be ok.....lower ends hold up very well.....BUT it wont be a daily driver with that cam

If you still have the stock torque converter, exhaust manifolds, etc. then yes, it's way too big.

To support that cam, you will need at the minumum:
-headers/full exhaust
-3600-3800rpm stall converter
-supporting valvetrain (springs/pushrods etc)
-a good tune

^^^^ now thats the best information given. A good cam for a stock motor would be an LS6 cam from a Zo6 Now that is the best for a truly stock car with no headers. But that cam wont work with a stock stall.

thats a pretty big cam man, as they stated, youre going to NEED a bigger stall, full exhaust, and a good tune for drive ability.

eh, I think the Z06 cam is a bit too small. I like thunder racing's CheaTR cam better, it was also designed for stock heads, stock manifolds, etc.

The LS6 cam is TINY... There are better cams than that for a stock LS1.

The ls6 cam is not worth putting in a car...If you're interested in a stock-like cam replacement do a search for Comps 216/220 114 lsa. Its a great baby cam that gains hp in the entire rev range, and doesn't require a converter or gears.

Ya the Z06 cam is small but has very good performance and great driveability, also you wont hear that cam lope very stealthy. The 224 dur. cams unless on a high LSA will have a noticable lope to it. But the 224's do put down some nice times at the track. But then once you top out that cam you will be left wondering "what if i went bigger what times would i be at."

If the Z06 cam is to small then ya id look into something like a 218-220 dur. on like a 115 lsa be a pretty smooth idle.
