headers or exhaust
ive been thinking 4 awhile about getting the gmmg exhaust 4 my car. but then i was thinking maybe i should get headers to get the air out of my engine 1st? if i went with a pacesetter lts 3inch ory does the stock exhaust have good enough flow to have pretty good performance increase until i get a new exhaust, or would i be better off getting the exhaust 1st?
thanks
thanks

I'm in the process of installing Pacesetter LTs and ORY and I will just be putting a DynoMax Bullet on the end of the Ypipe and have a turndown on it.
You could always use your stock catback and put a cutout at the end of the y-pipe?
The GMMG exhaust is very expensive.

You'll get hardly any gains from catback alone, but you'll get some pretty decent gains with the headers.
I haven't really heard of anyone running headers with the stock catback, well at least with fbodies. If you want the best sound, I'd say catback first, if you want the most power, I'd do headers with a cutout till you can afford your gmmg also.

GMMG is way overpriced compared to other catbacks, like Magnaflow...
But I would save your money for true duals. Get the headers and True Duals installed at the same time and it will be the best performance gain you can get from an exhaust.
Bassani makes a great kit that your exhaust guys assembles on the car. You will have more tq from True Duals than you would any ypipe combination.

Get LT's of your choice, not catted y-pipe of your choice, and yes cut-outs are cool but totally up to you. I know how loud the cars are with headers and full exhaust. If you don't like to be super loud all the time, and this is depending on your taste and exhaust brand choices and setup. If you want quieter exhaust but still throaty, run a muffler with your headers and do a dual electric cut out y-pipe so you can be real noisy whenever you want at the flip of a switch.
