Power Window Motor
Has anyone ever bought a replacement motor from ebay? My driverside window is going and i have to change the motor but i dont want to spend a lot of money cause i am going to sell the car in a couple of months (family is growing). autozone has them for 55 bucks but ebay has them for about 20 bucks brand new with lifetime warrenty on it (not that i would use the warrenty)

I bought 2 off an ebay store - one for me and one for a friend. One I gave him was fine, mine was noisey, supposedly new GM units - didn't come with the bolts either. Wish I would've got one locally so I could've brought it back and changed it while I had the door panel off.

Autozone's $55 one's also have a lifetime warranty too, I know, I got stung with it.
I found out the hard way, a "Lifetime Warranty" is only for the "Life" of the motor. I.E. Once you get it replaced if it breaks, your warranty has ended, the replacement motor has a 3 month warranty.
What this means is, if the motor lasts 20 yrs it's still covered under warranty, however, if it breaks in the first month, your "Lifetime Warranty" in reality is 4 months long.

Sounds like Autozone is the way to go to make sure you get a good one and not a noisy one from ebay.
Is the ebay lifetime warranty like the warranty issue from Autozone or is the ebay one a sure deal whenever forever?

Dumb related question. I just got a 99 Z28 parts car. I can't get the LH window up. It gets power, I tried smacking the **** out of it, pulling up the window, all sorts of contortions. Is there anyway to get it to go up short of a partial dismantle. I'm not buying a motor for a car I am throwing away. I just want to keep water out of it. For now, plastic!
