"Granatelli MAF Sensor"...good or bad idea?
I am thinking of buying a Granatelli MAF sensor since it will allow for more air flow and a small hp gain. I want to know if it will be a good investment in the long run for my 2002 Trans Am A4 or should i just leave the stock MAF?..

Not worth the money, IMO. I'd stick with the stock one.

i tried the granatelli maf worked good on stock tune, felt the difference. but after i got the slp predator tune it went alil on the lean side on the top end and went flat until i went with a fuel enrichment with the predator, after it was richer it pulled pretty hard on top again, even alil better then before... im s/d now (my mail order tuner didnt want to tune for the granatelli, and i wasnt going to buy another maf) so my maf is sitting in its box.

Bad idea.
Stay with an untouched stock.
Keep your fuel system clean, change filters often and fresh O2's every few years.
The general rule is all components should match. To see a gain (unless there is a weak link) you must make complimentary changes(same improvement to induction, flow and exhaust).

Generally speaking the SLP and Granatelli MAF sensors have had historic problems, both in running stock and tuning. The only Aftermarket MAF that has been good track record is the calibrated Z06 MAF sensor from PACEparts. But it's debateable whether or not the stock MAF is a flow restriction.
