Default 1999 T/A Firehawk, Should I get it?

Just like the title says should I get a 1999 Black Firehawk.

Here is the good:
One Owner (older guy)
Car is clean
Car is completely stock
Seems like a good deal
Rebuilt tranny(If thats good I guess)

The Bad:
145,000 Miles
Both Driver and passanger pillars are crack
Car is a Automatic (really wanted a M6)

Anyways he wants $8500 for the car but is negotiable (sp). So what do you guys think?

Thanks guys in advance for your input,

If you really want a 6 speed then you'll never be happy.

Yeah your right. That was part of the reason why I sold my 99 SS because it was a Automatic.

You don't know how many good (and not so good) deals I passed up to find the perfect M6 car. I knew I would never be happy without one.

But, boy, that sure is tempting. $8,500 for a black Firehawk. Man.

Hard decision. Let us know what you decide!

yeah i would buy it. even just to hold on too. 145k on an all stock car is not anything to worry about. i have both pillars if you want.

wow, $8500 sure is a good deal. You can afford to dump some money into that bad boy for that price.

yeah and the fact that it had only 1 owner for all those miles means things have stayed consistant(theoretically) pretty much all of its life, and to get a tranny rebuild at that milage is definately accepatable. The only negative side is theres too much milage to get the collector aspect back, but it is a smoking deal. HOWEVER as these guys say, M6 is the way to go! get what you specifically want.

I wanted a black/black M6 WS6 car. I held off. 01, 72K miles (78,700 now), all the options I wanted, $12,000.

Just hold out till you find what you want. If you really wanted this car you wouldnt have asked us and tried to rationalize it, you would have already bought it and been TELLING us, not asking. I don't think you will be happy. Get the 6-speed if it's what you want.

I'm living proof. If you want a M6, wait for it. I love my car but I hate the fact that it's an A4.

145,000 miles and it's not the transmission you want. Either buy it with 100% intention of converting it to manual or PASS on it and wait for a good deal on a decent mileage WS6 with a manual tranny.

Don't settle or you will regret it.

Like everyone else said, if what youre really looking for is a m-6 then you wont be happy with an auto. I passed up 4 great deals on low mileage trans am's because i wanted a manual. I knew i wouldnt be happy with the auto no matter how fast i could make it.

I decided to just wait until I find a M6 cause I know I would'nt be happy any other way.

Thanks again guys for your input,

I passed on many good deals all because I wanted the car the way I wanted it, I knew what I was looking for and 2+ years later, came across what I wanted for a great price. The car was in PA, I'm from Ontario, Canada, BUT it only took a day out of my life to get it, bring it home and now I have the rest of my days to enjoy it.
It goes like this, as soon as u settle, right after, the car/deal that u were waiting for comes up. It never fails!
BE PATIENT, u find what you are looking for!

Like I said, I turned down MANY SS's because Camaro SS's are MUCH more common here, I wanted a Firehawk, had a 99 WS6, then wanted a Hawk, patience, and persistance paid off, Finally, I can't be happier.
