Does it do it in a certain gear?( I assume it happens in 4th)..Try & see if it does it in 3rd.
-Check your codes(if any) in the PCM.
-Check your transmission fluid for both correct fluid quantity & condition.
-Look over your engine for anything obvious, with special attention to the coil packs & ignition wires.
-check for any air leaks down stream of the MAF.

What kind of fuel do you use?
Did you recently change brands/octane ratings?

91 octane hmmm. You must be in Cali or some other place out west.
By all means take the car to a shop if you're new to the hobby or otherwise just not well versed automotive diagnostics/repair.
If I were you,get ahold of the owners manual & just read through it..& look at what needs to be done at various mileage intervals..
Go with the "city /short trip" schedule.
Being a novice, you'd be suprisedwhat you might learn just by reading the owners manual.

As far as jerking back and forth do you mean the engine is sputtering or is the whole car moving left to right?

i am experiencing the same thing at 2000 rpm. I am going to start with a fuel filter and plugs. Does anybody know if a cam or crank position sensor could cause the same problem?
